On June 18, the first annual meeting of the PACT project was held in Sofia under the theme “Everyone in the Picture: Horizontal Principles in Action,” bringing together over 100 representatives of civil society organisations from across the country. The event focused on the practical application of the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in the work of the civil society sector.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the supported partner initiatives under the “Partnership” Fund, as well as representatives of organisations with approved concepts under the “Code Success” Fund of the PACT project.
The programme combined practical exercises, work on real-life case studies, and discussions on the barriers to participation faced by different groups. Participants exchanged best practices and concrete solutions on how organisations can reach more people, create more inclusive initiatives, and ensure equal access to opportunities and rights.
A special focus in the programme were thematic videos addressing discrimination, equal participation, and access to rights, which encouraged participants to discuss applicable measures and actions for specific cases within their organisations.
The PACT project is being implemented by a consortium comprising the Open Society Institute – Sofia Foundation, the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation, and the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS).
The project is carried out with the financial support of the European Union under the “Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values” (CERV) programme.
